Palais national de Queluz et ses jardins
The Royal Palace of Queluz, also known as National Palace of Queluz, dates to the 18th century. The palace was built as a summer retreat for Don Pedro de Bragança, future King Pedro III, and was one of the last large Rococo style buildings erected in Europe.
Palais national de Sintra
The Sintra National Palace, also known as the Town Palace, was among the palaces used by the Portuguese Royal Family almost up to the end of the Monarchy, in 1910. Its construction began in the 15th century and features characteristics of Medieval, Gothic, Manueline, Renaissance and Romantic architecture
Palais National de Pena
The fantastic Palácio da Pena is one of the best examples of 19th-century Romantic revivalism in Portugal. Situated at the top of Monte da Pena, the palace was built on the site of an old monastery belonging to the Order of St. Jerome. It was the fruit of the imagination of Dom Fernando of Saxe Coburg-Gotha, who married the queen Dona Maria II in 1836. After falling in love with Sintra, he decided to buy the convent and the surrounding land to build a summer palace for the royal family.
Cabo Da Roca
the westernmost point of mainland Europe, Cabo da Roca. Around 490 FT above the sea, here you can have a panoramic view over the Mountain of Sintra and the coast line of the entire area
Guincho Beach
A favored spot for Lisbon surfers when the swell doesn't wrap into the city breaks, Guincho is a long, open beach that is rarely flat, but it's also exposed to wind - hence its popularity as a summertime windsurfing haunt. It does produce quality waves though, working best on lower tides when long, reeling lefts and rights can form around shifting banks. Gets big and is famous for its brutal rip currents. Amazing seafood and fresh fish restaurants on the coast line
Cascais
Cascais it´s year round resort just 40 minutes from Lisbon. Kings and aristocrats have holidayed here and it's easy to see why.
Estoril
Long as established the cosmopolitan holiday destination of the rich and famous on the Portuguese Riviera, Estoril has an elegance more commonly attributed to resorts on the Côte d’Azur. Exiled royalty and deposed despots made this their haven during World War II
