Landsailing in Bonaire: Land-based Sailing Adventures

Overview

Try your hand at landsailing in Bonaire, a land-based sailing activity accessible to everyone, even those with no prior experience. You will learn how to pilot a blokart during a 10-minute introductory lesson, ensuring you quickly master the craft to fully enjoy the track. The experience adapts to your preferences: you can opt for a peaceful sail guided by the wind or seek an adrenaline rush by increasing your speed. The activity is open to a wide range of participants, including children from age 3 and seniors, thanks to the availability of double blokarts (side-cars). Children aged 8 and over may sail solo, provided wind conditions allow. Two options are available: a package including round-trip transport in an air-conditioned van from your pick-up location, or a package without transport with a meeting directly at the site.

Activity itinerary

The track is located about 15 minutes from the center of Kralendijk on the wild and windy side of the island. You are welcome to drive there yourself, then spend some time exploring in the area. (If you need a transfer from Kralendijk, please select that option when you make your booking.) When you arrive at the track, we'll spend about 10-15 minutes going over the rules and getting some tips on sailing. You'll don helmets and gloves (and glasses if you don't have your own) before walking to the pit stop and getting into your blokart. We size the sail to suit the wind conditions and your weight and skill level. You'll have about 45 minutes of sailing (on wheels) before it is time to come back to the reception area for a debrief and discussion on "who was the fastest!". We offer cold water served in your very own eco-friendly water bottle (included in the price) and some unique souvenirs available for purchase. The total tour takes about 2 hours including travel time from Kralendijk.

Pickup

Pickup or meet at the departure point.

Choose the "round trip transportation" option then let us know your location or the name of cruise ship in the "special requirements" section on the booking form. We expect everyone to be on time for their pick-up and waiting at the at the allocated meeting place. If you are more than 10 minutes late we will leave without you and you will not be refunded. Please be on time. Note that the meeting time is 15 minutes prior to your booked time unless otherwise notified.
