Haleakala Sunrise with Local Breakfast in Maui

Overview

Watch the dawn of a new day from the summit of Haleakala, a dormant volcanic mountain overlooking the east side of Maui. This preserved natural site, featuring deep canyons, is home to endemic species such as the Hawaiian Nene goose and rare silversword plants. You will be transported in a comfortable air-conditioned minibus to an altitude of 9,740 feet to witness the spectacular display of light and colour at sunrise. On the descent, enjoy sweeping panoramic views of Kula and the Pacific Ocean before heading to O'Lei Coffee House at the Plantation in Waikapu for a local breakfast. Two options are available depending on the season: a winter option from 1 October to 31 March and a summer option from 1 April to 30 September. Both include pick-up from specific Maui hotels and Haleakala National Park admission fees.

IMPORTANT: Access is restricted to Lahaina on the west side of Maui. The tour times provided reflect the start and end of the tour, but not your exact pickup and drop off time. Whether or not you've provided your hotel/lodging at the time of booking, you are required to contact the tour provider no less than (2) days prior to your tour date to receive your exact pickup time and location. The tour provider will advise you of the specific area at the hotel/lodging you should wait; for example "at the front entrance." Please be there at least 5 minutes before your pickup time. Please allow a 10-15 minute grace period, as the driver will be picking up other guests in your area. If your hotel/lodging is not included on our pickup schedule, you'll be advised to meet at nearby location. Please note that we are prohibited by certain properties to pickup non-hotel guests and we do not pick-up at private properties such as AirBnB's and residential areas.

How to use your ticket

At least (2) days prior to your tour date, you must call or email to schedule your pickup and receive your exact pickup time and meeting spot. Dressing in layers is recommended as it gets very cold on Haleakala. Due to unpredictable and variable weather conditions, clear viewing of the sunrise is not guaranteed and refunds will not be honored for inclement weather. Guest with existing heart conditions and those who've gone scuba diving within 72 hours are not recommended to take this tour due to the high elevation on Haleakala.
