2. Las Hornillas is found in the foothills of the Miravalles Volcano, where you can enjoy a truly unique experience walking inside an active crater. Observe steaming vents, bubbling mud pots, hot water pools, and striking sulphur deposits as you witness the raw power of the earth up close. This is the only place in Costa Rica where visitors can safely explore an active crater and feel the steam rising from beneath your feet.
