This is the coastline of Vágar you can’t see from the road. Sail from Sørvágur with a local skipper who knows exactly where the seabird colonies sit. We bring the boat in slowly and close, so you get a proper look at puffins, guillemots and kittiwakes on the cliff ledges, and at grey seals resting on the skerries. You’ll see the Drangarnir sea stacks and Tindhólmur islet from the water, the way most visitors never do, and stop beneath Skarðsáfossur, a waterfall that drops from the cliff edge and is best seen from the sea, since the land above is private. With no more than 12 guests per boat, there’s room for everyone to move around, take photos and ask questions. Your skipper shares stories about the fjord, its wildlife and life in this corner of the Faroe Islands for generations.

Sorvagur
Your trip begins at the small boat harbour in Sørvágur, where your skipper welcomes you aboard Sjórok. Within minutes of leaving the harbour, you’re sailing beneath sheer cliffs that can only be seen from the water.
Drangarnir
We sail as close to the towering Drangarnir sea stacks as conditions allow. Along the way, your skipper points out the seabirds nesting on the cliff ledges: puffins, guillemots, kittiwakes and fulmars. The boat approaches slowly and keeps a respectful distance, so you get a good look without disturbing the birds.
We round the striking Tindhólmur islet, where grey seals often rest on the skerries or pop their heads up beside the boat. Your skipper shares stories about the fjord, its wildlife, and life in this corner of Vágar.
Along the coast between Bøur and Gásadalur, we stop beneath Skarðsáfossur, a waterfall that drops from the cliff edge onto a small stone beach. The land above is private, so the sea is the best place to see it. Your skipper brings the boat in close enough to hear the water, and on some days you’ll feel the spray. It’s especially impressive after rain.
The boat is located in the small boat marina. Search for Seatravel on google maps. Look for the orange flag at the marina.
The return is at the same place.
