At most sites there will be some free time for you to take photos, use restrooms or grab a coffee.

Itinerary

1. Pegasus Bridge

   Pegasus Bridge and Horsa Bridge Learn how glider assaults by men from the British 6th Airborne Division captured the bridges across the Caen Canal and Orne river.

   Hillman strongpoint This fortification was part of the German defence, positioned behind Sword beach on high ground. Learn how elements of the British 3rd Infantry Division overcame this obstacle.

3. Sword Beach

   Sword Beach The Eastern landing beach of the invasion was to be assaulted by the 3rd Infantry Division. Hear about the German defence system and the British plan of attack that would smash into them.

4. Gold Beach We visit the second British landing sector and see how the men of the 50th Infantry Division were able to break through.

   Arromanches Here we will see the remains of the Mulberry artificial harbour.

   Longues-sur-Mer Gun Battery This large German gun battery still has its original artillery pieces in place.

   British War Cemetery at Bayeux Time for reflection at the British War Cemetery, final resting place and memorial for 6452 soldiers.
