   Geraldine will be our first stop after departing Christchurch, where we’ll take a short refreshment break for coffee and restroom facilities.

5. Mt. Cook Village

   At your final destination, enjoy lunch at a beautifully located hotel offering spectacular views. The hotel is perfectly positioned to provide outstanding vistas of the Mount Cook glaciers. Aoraki/Mount Cook, New Zealand’s highest mountain, played a key role in helping Sir Edmund Hillary develop his climbing skills before his historic ascent of Mount Everest. Please note that the Mueller Hut Route is temporarily closed to day walkers; however, guests with overnight bookings at Mueller Hut may still access the track and hut. Mount Cook Village serves as the main gateway to Aoraki/Mount Cook National Park, with several short walks and multi-day hikes beginning from the village. It is also a fantastic place to experience pristine night skies and enjoy activities such as boat tours and heli-hikes to the Tasman Glacier, as well as the popular Hooker Valley Track.

   This is one of the best spots for scenic photography overlooking the Tasman Glacier. Enjoy an easy, one-hour walk to the viewpoint—don’t forget your camera.
