Overview

On this tour you will get to know more about the Patagonian history beyond the glaciers, transporting you to more than 80 million years history. You will know the private nature reserve "Estancia 25 de Mayo", which has areas that are unique in their geology and in the paleontology of Argentina. Here you can discover fossils with an approximate age of up to 15 million years. You will discover the traces of the first settlers, the original people who inhabited this region 10,000 years ago. You can also discover the native fauna and flora of this special corner of Patagonia, through this 4x4 safari. You will enjoy a delicious lunch or dinner in the field, at the post "La Selección".

Itinerary

1. El Calafate

   Embark on a journey through the heart of Patagonia with our Safari Experience. Choose between morning or afternoon departures, with pick-up directly from your hotel at either 9 AM or 4 PM.

2. As we ascend through the rugged terrain of Huyliche and Calafate hills in a comfortable 4x4 vehicle, marvel at the breathtaking landscapes and discover the rich geology and paleontology that define the Patagonian steppe.

3. Estancia 25 de Mayo

   Our adventure leads us to Estancia 25 de Mayo, where history and nature converge. Follow the course of the Calafate stream, witnessing the subtle changes in flora as we ascend towards the Villalba family post, the original inhabitants of this remarkable residence. Immerse yourself in their story while exploring the surrounding landscape on a short trek through the reserve, uncovering archaeological sites dating back to the era of glaciations. Experience the vibrant ecosystem of the steppe as our knowledgeable guides introduce you to its diverse inhabitants and their way of life. Conclude your journey with a delicious stew at "La Selección" .

4. El Calafate

   After lunch or dinner (depending on your chosen option), we'll return you to your hotel in El Calafate, completing a day filled with exploration and discovery.
