This activity has been designed by a local ‘expert’, who has created a fun experience that takes you to some of the town’s highlights and the lesser-known places, away from all the tourists. The puzzles are designed to help you experience the place from a different perspective – using landmarks, murals, statues etc - and you’ll even learn some ‘fun facts’ along the way. The self-guided aspect of your activity means that you can rush through as fast as you like or stop for a drink or something to eat as you like. The app remembers your progress and even allows you to complete your Adventure Hunt another day. This activity aims to strike a fun balance between challenging puzzles, a fun outing with friends and family, and a pleasant walk around outside.

Olhao Adventure Hunt is an interactive experience that combines elements of scavenger hunts, treasure trails, walking tours, and escape rooms. Think of it as a self-guided puzzle walk – blending sightseeing with problem-solving, turning a simple walk into an engaging and inspiring experience. Step into the heart of Olhão and uncover its secrets on a fun, self-guided walking adventure. Using the Adventure Hunt app (available on Android and iPhone), you’ll follow clues, solve puzzles, and uncover fascinating fun facts as you go — with helpful hints available whenever you need them. A Journey Through Culture, History, and Coastal Charm Starting and ending at the ferry dock, this 2km circular walk guides you around the labyrinthine lanes of the Fishermen’s Quarter, through the pretty pedestrianised shopping area, and along the scenic waterfront. Along the way, you’ll discover hidden squares with sculptures revealing legendary tales of the town, huge murals illustrating Olhao’s fishing heritage, and cafes overlooking the Ria Formosa lagoon. With 19 stops along the route, the experience takes around 1.5 to 2 hours to complete.
