1. Tsurugaoka Hachimangu Shrine

   Step back in time at Kamakura’s most important Shinto shrine, founded in 1063. As you walk up the majestic, cherry-tree-lined Dankazura approach (bloom period: end of March), you’ll feel the deep samurai history that shaped this ancient capital. The shrine is dedicated to Hachiman, the patron god of the samurai and the Minamoto clan. Explore the beautiful vermilion-lacquered buildings, stroll around the scenic Lotus Ponds, and learn about the fascinating rituals and festivals that still take place here today. 2. Directly contrasting the serene atmosphere of the shrine, Komachi Street is a vibrant, bustling pedestrian avenue bursting with modern energy and traditional charm. This is your chance to dive into Kamakura's thriving food and shopping culture. Follow your guide through a labyrinth of boutique shops, local handicrafts, and endless street food stalls. 3. Hasedera Temple

   Around 1300 years ago, two sculptors carved two Kannon statues out of a sacred tree. One of them was enshrined here at Hasedera in Kamakura. It is commonly called “Eleven-headed Kannon” since it has eleven heads on top of its own head. It measures 9.18 meters tall and this makes it one of the largest wooden Buddhist statues in Japan. Hesedera temple resides on a mountain called “Kannon-zan”. The ground holds a large variety of flowers which bloom throughout the year welcoming visitors. 4. Kotoku-in - Great Buddha of Kamakura

   No trip to Kamakura is complete without standing in awe before the Great Buddha (Daibutsu), the iconic monumental bronze statue of Amida Buddha. Casting a serene gaze over the temple grounds since 1252, this 11.3-meter(37,1 feet)-tall masterpiece has miraculously survived typhoons, earthquakes, and a devastating 15th-century tsunami that washed away the temple building that once housed it. Today, it stands open-air against the backdrop of the coastal hills, offering an unforgettable photo opportunity and a profound sense of peace.

5. Enoshima Island
