Zanzibar city and spices excursions

Overview

All excursions are of course conducted in German and I offer them at very good prices. I am also willing to show you all the insider tips of my home island and ask you any questions. Visitors learn more about Zanzibar's history, slave trade, culture, economy, as well as the cultivation and use of spices.

Itinerary

1. Kidichi Persian Baths

   You will be picked up from the hotel and taken to the spice farm Zanzibar was known as the spice island, and exported cloves, vanilla, nutmeg and cardamom all over the world. The spices were brought from Asia and South America and thrived in the tropical climate. Today, the spice tour is one of the most popular excursions on the island. Walk through the spice plantation with your guide - touch, smell and taste different spices and try to guess which spice it is so you can remember it later. You can find everything from vanilla, cardamom, cinnamon, nutmeg, turmeric, lemongrass, cloves, ginger, coriander, pepper, allspice, chili, curry and more. Then colleague will climb up the palm tree for us to harvest a coconut, inside which we can eat and drink juice and meat. At the end of the tour, we will now taste some fruits and visit the spice shop. After the tour, a break for lunch. Duration (1:hour)

2. Stone Town

   Trace Zanzibar's rich history, including pre-Arab cultures, colonial times and contemporary times, during this 02-hour Stone Town tour.

4. The Old Fort (Ngome Kongwe)

   The Old Fort, also known as the Arabian Fort. It is the oldest building and a major visitor attraction of Stone Town. You will receive a short history about the place from your guide

5. Freddie Mercury Museum

   Travelers will pass by the former residence of legendary musician Freddie Mercury. While they won't be able to enter the house, they will have the opportunity to see the exterior and learn more about his connection to the famous Queen frontman.

6. Anglican Zanzibar Diocese

   Our guide will tell you the history of slavery. He will show you slave chambers and monuments.
