Activity itinerary

A typical beginner lesson starts with wetsuit sizing, followed by walking out to the beach with boards while discussing safety. I work with more advanced students to really tailor the lesson the meet their needs, focusing on what they most want to improve. I emphasize that the goals are to be safe, have fun, spend some time in mother nature, get a great work out, and learn what it takes to stand up on a wave. You could ride every wave on your belly, and that would be a successful lesson. First timers and advanced students alike can allow it be a patience meditation, being patient with yourself, the ocean, and the whole situation. When we go into the ocean, I am right there with the students guiding them into waves and pushing them if they want a bit of extra speed. When we’re done, we always thank the ocean, and then head back to get rinsed off.

How to use your ticket

Please text height and weight if you need wetsuit, meet at 41 breeze ave. Please plan for street parking. There’s a cash only parking garage on breeze ave just west of speedway at 909 Ocean Front Walk, Venice, CA 90291 that may or may not be open at that hour. Bring sunscreen, a towel, and water. Plan to use the restroom at the end of Brooks Avenue on the boardwalk if you need to. PLEASE DON’T BE LATE! THE LESSON BEGINS AND ENDS AT THE APPOINTED TIMES.
