Overview

During this two-day trek, you will get a truly unforgettable jungle adventure with our local guides who are certified and professional English-speaking. You go deep into the National Park and will have many opportunities to see orangutans and other wildlife close to their natural habitat. You will stay overnight in a campsite near by river or waterfall in the Gunung Leuser National Park. On the last day, hike even deeper into the forest, the deeper parts of the rainforest you have a higher chance of spotting different species of birds as well like the great argus rhinoceros hornbill, etc., before tubing the Bohorok River back to Bukit Lawang.

Activity itinerary

This adventurous overnight trek in Gunung Leuser National Park is the most popular option to discover and experience the tropical rainforest of North Sumatra. We will start our activity at 9:00 am. During this two-day trek, you go into the jungle, with great chances of seeing 8 species of monkeys that are hiding in the Gunung Leuser National Park: the Sumatran Orangutan, the Long Tail Macaques, the Pig Tail Macaques, the Thomas Leaf Monkeys, the Silver Leaf Monkeys but also the rarer to see White-handed Gibbons, Siamangs and Slow Loris and other animal up-close in their natural habitat, hike to a campsite by a river, then swim, eat dinner, playing some game in your campsite. On the second day after enjoying your breakfast in the jungle, you will go deeper into the jungle to explore more about our flora and fauna, you will even enjoy some fun traditional rafting back to Bukit Lawang with a wonderfull jugle view.

There will be a meeting with your guide one day before your trek starts for a short introduction to your trek.We usually start the tour from our hotel, but we can also pick you up in around Bukit Lawang in front of your accomodation for free. We can also arrange private transport with English speaking driver and A/C on demand up to max 4 persons per car. The transport can be from anywhere in North Sumatra (Airport, Medan city, Berastagi,ect) with extra charge for private car. Just text us when need it.
