Overview

The St Kilda Rd Bluestone is such a classic reminder of Melbourne’s humble beginnings during the Gold Rush and a site that is treasure by the Deaf and wider Community. The 1866 Gothic Bluestone was built by the founder, F.J. Rose, who was a pioneering deaf educator, mentor and advocate who worked tirelessly throughout his life to improve deaf education in Victoria. His legacy continues to inspire and guide the work today.
