Tour Full Day High Mountain: Potrerillos, Uspallata from Mendoza

Overview

Enjoy landscape of the mountain in its maximum splendor. This tour, which is considered one of the most popular in the region , goes from Mendoza to the border with Chile. During your journey you will find places of charm ; Potrerillos and Cacheuta, both possess a vital wealth and function for the province. Along the route we will make a stop in the ski centre Penitentes, to appreciate the snow in the winter season. Further on, we will find Puente del Inca, which is a rocky formation that represents a natural bridge surrounded by hot springs. Nearby we will observe through a magnificient viewpoint, the Aconcagua Mountain, the highest peak in America. Finally, following the international route, we will find the customs complex “Los Horcones”, and later, already in the limits with Chile , we will finish our tour in Las Cuevas , a place with a european building style and where we will make a stop to enjoy a mendozinian lunch in a typical mountain restaurant.

1. After picking up all the travelers at the hotels, we will head to the first stop of this excursion in a journey that lasts approximately one hour.

2. Potrerillos

   Potrerillos will be the first stop, where you can get some fresh air, buy a snack and admire the lake, the Potrerillos Reservoir

3. Uspallata

   Here we will find ourselves in front of a pre-Hispanic settlement of aboriginal Huarpes and also the southernmost point of the Inca empire.

4. Puente Picheuta

   We will visit Villas de Picheuta, Polvaredas and Punta de Vacas.

5. Puente del Inca

   We will continue on our way to the Aconcagua Viewpoint without losing sight of the impressive Puente del Inca (Inca Bridge), a natural architectural work with hot springs.

6. Afterwards, we will visit Los Penitentes ski resort, where you will have free time to ride the chairlift and get incredible panoramic views of the area (entrance fee not included).

7. Parque Provincial - Mirador Del Cerro Aconcagua

   The next stop is a panoramic viewpoint of Cerro Aconcagua, located at 2750 meters (9022 feet) above sea level. From there, head to the Horcones Lagoon and the Aconcagua Provincial Park.

8. Following the international route, you will reach your final destination, the village of Las Cuevas (a European-style village, located at 3200 meters or (10 500 feet) above sea level). Between Las Cuevas and the international tunnel there is a road that allows visitors to access the Christ the Redeemer monument, located at 4200 meters (13 780 feet) above sea level.

9. Mendoza

   It's time to go back to Mendoza and get a good rest! The bus will head back to the Panamerican Highway by the same route and will take you back to the hotel in Mendoza around 7:00 pm.

Transportation to and from most downtown hotels in Mendoza. Within the urban radius of the city. In case the accommodation is out of the radius, you will be informed of the nearest meeting point for the pick up / Drop Off. Please note that regular excursions can take up to 30/35 minutes for pick ups. Keep in mind that the bus goes through different hotels, and sometimes passengers are delayed!

• The state of the road is informed by the Gendarmerie the same morning we arrive at Uspallata, so if you decide to take the service there is no refund or rescheduling.
• The tour is not suspended due to bad weather. We leave the same and we provide our services in the best possible way, depending on the weather conditions of each day.
• In case we are unable to comply with the original itinerary, the excursion is complemented with an additional itinerary through the Uspallata Valley.
