Western Everglades Adventure Tour in Naples

Overview

This half-day excursion departing from the Greater Fort Myers/Naples area offers an educational approach to nature for the whole family. The experience combines land observation and navigation to explore local ecosystems. The programme includes a one-hour walk through a slash pine and saw palmetto forest to observe flora and fauna, followed by a one-hour airboat ride through the marshes and swamps. This boat trip allows for the spotting of alligators and wading birds. The activity also includes a one-hour educational session on reptiles, led by a biologist or naturalist guide. To facilitate communication with the captain and guide during the airboat trip, headsets are provided.

   Guests will enjoy an exciting, wilderness experience in the headwaters of the Western Everglades where they will journey by airboat to visit alligators, turtles and dozens of different species of birds in a pristine wetland. Additionally they will get to learn from a wildlife biologist about the native reptiles and have an opportunity to view them up close.
