1 Day Tour to Shakhrisabz: Motherland of Amir Temur

Overview

In this excursion you will get acquainted with: nature, culture, history, customs and, of course, cuisine of Shakhrisbz. You will see from the filming locations of the movie "Apache" through the mountains to the hometown of the great Amir Timur in one day.

Itinerary

1. - Valley of Demons. There are huge boulders there, strange stones are scattered throughout the valley, they have fantastic shapes, reminiscent of either the faces of demons, or the features of pagan deities, or the figures of wild animals.

2. - “Heart-stone” - with a through hole in the shape of a heart, created by nature with the help of the wind of the currents of many years, located 30 km south of Samarkand, on the road to Amankutana.

3. The Palace Complex of Ak-Saray

   Aksaray was built by order of Amir Temur after his campaign against Khorezm. The estimated start of construction of the monument is 1379, and at the moment only two separate entrance portals, whose height is more than 40 meters, have been preserved. Entrance ticket costs 3 dollars per person and you can pay in cash or by card.

4. Sultan Saodat Complex

   This complex arose after the death of Amir Temur's eldest son Jahangir. Now the ensemble consists of several buildings - a mosque, a mausoleum, a room for pilgrims, three gates and tombs. Entrance ticket costs 3 dollars per person and you can pay in cash or by card.

5. Kok-Gumbaz Mosque

   In 1435, the largest mosque in Shakhrisabz was opened. This mosque was built on the foundation of a pre-Mongol mosque and presents a striking example of the Persian style. Entrance ticket costs 3 dollars per person and you can pay in cash or by card.

6. Samarkand

   After visiting all the sights, we head to Samarkand. And also on the way you will admire the mountain landscapes and taste the best tandoor-gush (lamb meat)!
