Market Visit and Meal at Casa Di Cilla in Sicily

Overview

Explore the local market in Sicily accompanied by a resident, for an authentic discovery of the products and the neighbourhood atmosphere. The tour includes a stop at Mario's, where you can choose between an espresso, a cappuccino, a café crème, or a fresh orange and pomegranate juice, squeezed in front of you at a historic family stall run for three generations. Fresh fruit and almond biscuits are also available during this stop. The experience continues with a full meal, featuring a menu from starter to dessert, accompanied by wine and water.

Activity itinerary

We will begin our experience early in the morning by meeting at "Porta Carini", the gateway to one of the most famous markets in the city, the Capo. We will go down the alleys of the market, full of merchandise, and here we will buy everything we need to create the menu you have chosen together. Among the stalls full of goods, between colors and voices you will have the impression of being in one of the souks of any Muslim city. Visiting a Palermo market is a multicultural experience, they fully express the multifaceted and cosmopolitan culture of Palermo. After our purchases, we will go to my home, which is located a few minutes from Piazza Politeama. Here our experience will continue with the preparation of the dishes. Under my supervision my kitchen will become the scenario of your culinary creations. Sicilian cuisine, considered among the most creative and scenographic in the world, is closely connected to the historical, cultural and religious events of the island. From the appetizer to the dessert I will tell you the origin and history of each dish, and this will be a reason for comparison and exchange between our cultures.
