In antiquity, Monteriggioni was famed as an impregnable fortress. Now, inside the castle, you can visit the museum of Medieval Weapons and walk along the old defensive walls. Additionally, inside the castle, you can find a good winery for your enjoyment!

   Second stop in San Gimignano for a free visit to the medieval village. San Gimignano is a small walled medieval hill town, not far from Siena, known as the Town of "Fine Towers."
