Tales of the Past History Tour

Overview

Our Tales of the Past History Tour is an hour and a half walking tour that has been fully researched at the St. Augustine Historical Society. Join us as we walk down Aviles Street, the oldest street in America, and visit the old Alcazar Hotel and Ponce de Leon Hotel. We will also visit the Old Slave Market, the Governor’s House, and several stops along St. George Street. Come learn about the oldest city in America, and Henry Flager’s contributions to this amazing city.

Itinerary

1. St. George Street

   Our guide will discuss our diverse British, Spanish, Catholic, and Protestant heritage, all in one block!

2. Lightner Museum

   The history of the old Alcazar Hotel will be discussed in detail and its contributions to St. Augustine. Note: We do not go into the museum.

3. The Ximenez-Fatio House Museum

   We will discuss this beautiful home and its rich history. We do not go inside to the museum.

4. Segui-Kirby Smith House

   Our guide will discuss the history of this home and its place in St. Augustine’s rich history. We will not go into the home.
