Overview

Montenejos, an alpine-style village just an hour from Valencia, is renowned for its thermal springs and picturesque hiking trails—an ideal destination for our day trip. Departing from near the heart of Valencia, our journey begins in a comfortable 9-seat air-conditioned minibus. Upon arrival in Montenejos, we'll start with a leisurely coffee before starting on our short hike to the Thermal Springs via the Cave Cueva Negra. The walk takes just over an hour and there is a chance do go inside this impressive cave. after our hike, we'll have the opportunity to relax and rejuvenate with a refreshing swim in the thermal pools of la Fuente de Los Baños. Finally on the way bacj to Valencia we will stop at the Beautiful waterfall, Salto de La Novia Pack your own lunch, wear sturdy walking shoes, apply sunscreen, bring a hat, carry around 1 litre of water and don your bathing costume if you plan to take a dip.

1. We’ll begin our day with a relaxing coffee in a picturesque alpine-style village, the perfect setting to soak in the mountain atmosphere. Depending on the season, we’ll either enjoy a cozy café in the bustling main square or sip our coffee at a charming hotel terrace with panoramic views overlooking the town. It’s a peaceful and scenic start to an unforgettable day of exploration.

2. Montanejos

   Get ready to explore the breathtaking Maimona Canyon, often described as a mini Grand Canyon for its dramatic cliffs, rugged beauty, and stunning views. This hidden gem offers two unforgettable hiking options to suit your pace and preference. Choose between the full loop around the canyon rim, offering sweeping panoramic vistas at every turn, or a shorter route that takes you to the highest viewpoint, with a thrilling side trip to Cueva Negra—a deep, mysterious cave carved into the rock that’s as fascinating as it is impressive. Whether you're a seasoned hiker or just in it for the views, this adventure promises epic scenery, natural wonders, and a true taste of wild Spain.

3. Aigües Termals de Montanejos

   We’ll finish our walk with a refreshing swim in the crystal-clear thermal waters of Montanejos, a natural paradise where the water stays a soothing 23°C year-round. Surrounded by stunning cliffs and lush greenery, it’s the perfect way to relax and rejuvenate after a day of exploring. In the summer months, you can unwind with a drink from the bar next to the pools, enjoying the sunshine and atmosphere. During the quieter seasons, we’ll head into the charming town of Montanejos for a relaxing drink before making our way back to Valencia. A perfect end to a day full of nature, adventure, and discovery.
