Yosemite Hike- Sentinel Dome and Taft Point from Glacier Point

Overview

This trip meets and ends at Glacier Point (personal auto transport is necessary). After viewing the high country from Glacier Point, we embark on a 6.8 mile trek to both the summit of Sentinel Dome (8,122′) and to the Fissures and Taft Point. This route presents a more strenuous first mile while the remainder of the trip is more easy to moderate. This can be a great intro-hike for the family that includes awesome scenery, experiences, and accomplishments!

Itinerary

1. Glacier Point

   A great view overlooking Yosemite Valley that let's you look both high and low.

2. Taft Point

   From here you will see just how big El Capitan is and see some unique geologic features.

   · 30 min

3. Sentinel Dome

   The home of one of Ansel Adams' most well-known photos, from here you can look way into the highcountry and learn about where the beauty of Yosemite comes from.

What to know before you go

• Suitable for all physical fitness levels
• All travelers are advised to bring their own lunch, snacks and water bottles
• Date of birth MUST be provided at time of booking
• Hiking shoes are required
• Dress appropriately for weather
• Guides carry first-aid kits, water-purification methods, toilet paper (for emergencies), sunscreen and bug repellent
