The Brownsberg Nature Reserve covers 6000 hectare of unspoiled land. In one day you will become acquainted with the major share of the flora and fauna the Suriname rainforest has to offer. A hike through the forest and down the hills will lead you to the most idyllic waterfalls.

   Discover Brownsberg, located in the Brokopondo district of Suriname. This is the perfect place to enjoy the diverse flora and fauna of the Surinamese rainforest. This unique day trip takes you to the heart of Suriname’s jungle. Highlights: Tropical rainforest with high biodiversity Adventurous jungle hike (good physical condition required) Idyllic waterfalls Animals such as 350 bird species, 8 monkey species, deer, rabbits, sloths, forest pigs, tapirs, frogs etc.

How to use your ticket

• Comfortable walking shoes are recommended • If you will not be arriving at your destination within the specified reconfirmation period, please reconfirm with the local service provider prior to travel, or upon arrival at your destination. Please note that departure times and locations may vary slightly. • A current valid passport is required on the day of travel • Not recommended for participants with back problems • Not recommended for participants with heart complaints or other serious medical conditions • Not recommended for pregnant women • The duration of transfers are approximate, the exact duration will depend on traffic conditions • Each traveler is allowed a maximum of 1 back pack. 

What to know before you go

• Suitable for all physical fitness levels
• Children must be accompanied by an adult
• Please advise any specific dietary requirements at time of booking
• Each traveler is allowed a maximum of 1 suitcase and 1 carry-on bag. Oversized or excessive luggage (e.g. surfboards, golf clubs or bikes) may have certain restrictions, please inquire with the operator prior to travel to confirm if your excess luggage is acceptable
• A current valid passport is required on the day of travel
• Dry season warning (September, October, Mid -November): less water at the waterfall and presence of many horseflies
• Rainy season warning (April, May, June, July): flooding of a creek along side the road to the mountain inhibits the bus to reach the plateau. If this happens an alternative program will carried out: a stop at the Brokopondo dam, a visit to a marroon village, swimming at Colakreek
• A minimum of 2 people is required for the tour to have guaranteed departure
