Wonders of Wadi Dissah – Full-Day Nature Escape

Overview

From Al Ula and in just three hours we would arrive in one of the must-see natural jewels of Saudi Arabia “Wadi Qaraqir” as in archaic geography “Wadi Ad-dissah” in current times. We will drive deeper inside this staggering canyon to enjoy its greenery, small water stream that flows all year-round, the sandstone mountains with heights more than 100 to 500 meters that enclave this valley, lush vegetation made of 3-meter high grass, numerous palm trees and bushes, flourishes in between the majestic cliffs of the canyon. After this thrilling experience, we will head up to a nearby farm to enjoy lunch then we are on our way back to Al Ula.

1. AlUla

   Depart early from your hotel in AlUla and begin a scenic 3-hour drive through the stunning desert landscapes of northwest Saudi Arabia. Your destination — the breathtaking Wadi Qaraqir, also known as Wadi Ad-Dissah — is one of the kingdom’s most beautiful natural treasures.

2. Upon arrival, you’ll be amazed by the contrast between the golden desert and the lush greenery of the valley. Drive deeper inside the canyon to experience its year-round water stream, surrounded by towering sandstone cliffs rising between 100 to 500 meters. Explore the Canyon Enjoy a leisurely exploration of this dramatic landscape. The valley is filled with tall grasses, palm groves, and unique rock formations — a perfect setting for photography and quiet reflection amid nature’s serenity. Lunch at a Local Farm After your exploration, head to a nearby local farm for a relaxing lunch in a peaceful rural setting — a perfect way to immerse yourself in the authentic beauty of the region.

   Return to AlUla After lunch, begin your drive back to AlUla, arriving in the late afternoon.
