White wines from Czechia are lately receiving a good amount of international attention, thanks to their visibility on top ranks in various competitions such as the “Chardonnay du Monde". After a 45 min drive south of Brno, you will arrive in Velke Pavlovice, a historical town in the heart of the Palava Natural Park wine region. There you get your e-bikes fitted and you can set off on a 40 kilometers (25 miles) exploratory mission through endless rolling hills dotted with vineyards. To soak up the beauty of the Little Tuscany area, stop for a delicious lunch (own expense) at a goat farm and enjoy phenomenal views of the surrounding vineyards from this eco-friendly hilltop establishment. After a good break, climb the last few hills to the Sonberk winery, one of the top rated wine makers in the country. There, a local winemaker will walk you through the vineyard and explain to you in detail what makes white wines from Czechia unique and why they are not often available outside the country. Finish your day with tasting 5 different samples (included in price of the tour) of Chardonnay, Riesling, Tramin, Palava and Pinot Gris and enjoy views of the setting sun over the Palava Lakes.
