Monkeyland Puerto Plata Visit with Pick-up

Overview

This activity in Cabarete allows you to observe and interact with a family of squirrel monkeys. The highlight of the visit is feeding these primates directly from a fruit basket held in your hand. The experience lasts approximately 4 hours and 30 minutes and includes a pick-up service. To complement the visit, a tasting of coffee and hot chocolate is offered to participants. The tour is led by a guide speaking English, Russian, French, German, Italian, or Spanish. Bottled water is provided during the activity.

Activity itinerary

Hop on an open-air safari truck and immerse yourself in the Dominican countryside. We begin our day with a visit to Monkey Land. In the tropical jungle, listen to the sounds of nature while keeping an eye out for the cute little squirrel monkeys that abound in this natural environment. Trained staff give you a plate of fruit that you can offer to the monkeys. These cheeky, friendly creatures love shiny objects — hang on to your belongings or they will relieve you of loose items for later play. This is an awesome opportunity to get up close with these lovable, fun little monkeys. Head to a typical countryside home, where time has stood still. See and experience how the locals live without running water or electricity. You’ll also learn about the history and culture of this beautiful Caribbean island and discover some traditional customs.
