Overview

Set off on an excursion across Finland's frozen sea aboard a Redrib, a steel boat designed to break through the ice. You will navigate through ice and snow to reach the remote areas of the deeply frozen archipelago. The activity offers a unique ice swimming experience: using specialised survival suits, you can float among the ice floes while remaining perfectly warm and dry. The island visit continues with a nature walk and a lunch prepared over a campfire, accompanied by coffee or tea. All necessary equipment for the island stay and the survival suits are provided. A pick-up and drop-off option from Helsinki city centre or the airport is available.

Activity itinerary

Try a great experience in the arctic archipelago! Over breaking ice or snow, we leave from the east side of Helsinki into the empty archipelago deep frozen in a hovercraft or with an ice breaking steel boat if the ice conditions are limited. Wearing a Survival suit you can experience how it feels floating among ice rafts staying warm and dry. Running on floating ice rafts is great fun too, when available! Barbecue lunch on open fire is a perfect end to a perfect day.
