Overview

A Mokoro day trip is a full-day excursion into the Delta. The Okavango Delta is the biggest inland delta and is also listed as one of the seven wonders of the world. You will be transferred to the mokoro station at Boro. Embark on this day trip and travel through the water channels using a dug-out canoe. This experience is very relaxing.

Itinerary

1. Okavango Delta

   Marvelous Mobile Safari will pick you up from your place of accommodation. We will then proceed to the boat station where you will leave on a mokoro (dugout canoe) for a full day of viewing game, birds and some of Botswana’s most breath-taking scenery. Relax and explore the shallow water-ways in a traditional mokoro. This breathtaking adventure will take you up snaking river channels and through the long grasses or papyrus. It is ideally suited as transport in the Delta as it can move quietly through shallow water, being pushed by a Poler using a long pole. Your day will be spent with a guide gliding silently down waterways, a 1 hour game walk, as well as a picnic lunch. After lunch you may rest in a shady, beautiful setting to soak up the peace and serenity of the Okavango Delta. Also included in the rate for this trip are park fees. With the sound of birdsong and the serenity of the river, a mokoro trip has been described as the ultimate experience in Botswana.
