   Perched on a hillside just outside Veliko Tarnovo, the Monastery of the Holy Transfiguration of God (Preobrazhenski Monastery) is one of the most important and picturesque Orthodox monasteries in Bulgaria. Founded in the 14th century and later restored in the 19th century, the monastery blends spiritual heritage with remarkable natural beauty.
