Overview

Explore the seabed surrounding Vila Franca do Campo Islet in Sao Miguel. After a briefing and equipment collection, you will head out with a guide to discover this iconic natural monument of the Azores. Equipped with a wetsuit, mask, and fins, you will swim in the crystal-clear waters of the islet's outer zone. You will observe volcanic rock formations and a variety of marine life, including colourful fish, starfish, crabs, moray eels, and octopuses. The activity takes place around the islet and not inside the nature reserve. To complete the experience, a short boat trip around the islet is included before returning to the marina. It is also possible to rent a SeaScooter for a different way of exploring. The departure point is located near the boat and kayak launch ramp, on the south side of the marina, where the provider's shop is situated.
