Adelaide Hills
Begin your journey with a picturesque drive from Adelaide City through the stunning Adelaide Hills. This scenic route is dotted with rolling vineyards, lush greenery, and charming countryside views. Along the way, you'll pass through quaint villages and enjoy glimpses of South Australia's natural beauty, setting the tone for a day of exploration and indulgence. The drive to Hahndorf offers a tranquil escape from the city, making it a perfect start to your adventure.
Hahndorf
Kick off your adventure in the historic village of Hahndorf, Australia’s oldest German settlement. Explore its charming streets, filled with unique boutiques, artisan shops, and delightful cafes. Savor the authentic atmosphere and perhaps enjoy a traditional German pastry.
Next, visit Beerenberg Farm, a haven for fresh, seasonal strawberries. Participate in strawberry picking (seasonal activity), with the entry fee included in your tour. Please note that strawberries picked are charged by weight at $12.50 per kilogram, payable directly at the farm. After picking, explore their farm shop offering a range of homemade jams, sauces, and condiments. Please Note : Strawberry picking is a seasonal activity controlled entirely by Beerenberg Farm, not our tour company. Factors such as rainfall, fruit ripeness, and daily visitor numbers dictate whether the patch is open. We cannot guarantee the patch will be open on any specific day as this is at the farm’s discretion on the morning of the visit.
Melba's Chocolate & Confectionery
A stop at Melba’s Chocolates in Woodside is always a delight. Set inside an old cheese factory, Melba’s has transformed the space into a charming working confectionery where you can see traditional chocolate- and lolly-making equipment in action. The experience is hands-on in the sense that you can wander through the different production areas, watch the chocolatiers at work, and of course, taste and shop your way through a huge range of handmade treats. From classic chocolate-coated honeycomb to nostalgic boiled sweets, there’s something to tempt every sweet tooth. It’s a favourite stop for families and visitors looking to take home a little taste of the Adelaide Hills.
Barossa Valley
The journey from Hahndorf to the Barossa Valley takes you through the heart of the Adelaide Hills, offering breathtaking views of rolling vineyards, dense forests, and charming farmlands. This scenic drive is not only a feast for the eyes but also a chance to spot local wildlife such as kangaroos, koalas, and colorful bird species in their natural habitat. The ever-changing landscape, dotted with rustic cottages and pristine valleys, creates the perfect backdrop for a tranquil and memorable drive to South Australia's renowned wine region.
Kies Family Wines
Upon reaching Barossa enjoy lunch and a wine tasting at Kies Family Wines, a family-owned gem in the Barossa Valley. Relish a gourmet meal at the Monkey Nut Café, offering vineyard views and local flavors.
