Intermediate Canyoning in Madeira with Private Transport

Overview

Embark on an intermediate-level canyoning excursion in Madeira, led by an English-speaking guide. This 4-hour activity allows you to explore the island's preserved interior by following a river through endemic forests. The route alternates between several progression techniques: you will walk, climb, jump, and slide through crystal-clear waters. Rope systems and harnesses are used to abseil down hidden waterfalls. The experience begins with a comprehensive safety briefing. All necessary technical equipment is provided, including a wetsuit, helmet, neoprene socks, harness, and special shoes. Photos and videos of your journey are included, as well as insurance and private transport.

Activity itinerary

✔️ After the pick-up, we will drive to the Canyoning location. ✔️ You will meet your guides as equipment is being dispersed and then taken on a 20-minute walk to the entrance of a stream where the first safety briefing will take place. ✔️ Along the way you will be able to abseil breath-taking waterfalls, jump and swim in beautiful natural pools, always surrounded by incredible landscapes. ✔️ With natural water slides, abseiling and jumps into natural rock pools the canyons are sure to make your heart skip a beat. ✔️ The beginning of the stream has some vertical challenges (up to 26 feet), small walking sections, and many play areas. The river will be flowing by the entire time with several jumping areas 15-20 feet high. The challenge continues following a quick snack break with waterfalls up to 35 feet tall! ✔️ At the end of the trip, there will be transportation to bring you back to the park where you began your adventure.
