This is a 3-hour tour of the Vatican and Sistine Chapel specifically designed to be fun and exciting for the children but interesting enough to keep all the family engaged. With skip-the-line access there's no queuing and more time to see the wonderful art collections of the Vatican Museums.

Itinerary

1. Musées du Vatican

   You meet with your guide near Vatican City and after bypassing the queues you can store your luggage in the Vatican cloakroom and begin this marvelous interactive journey of discovery.  As you visit the various collections your guide will involve the whole family in fun activities.  There are quizzes to solve, trivia questions to answer, scavenger hunts and much more to keep everyone occupied.  There are numerous delights to see: Greek and Roman sculptures; the sarcophagi of Empress Helena and Constantine, the mother and daughter of Constantine the Great; the Gallery of the Candelabra; Gallery of Tapestries; Sobieski Hall and the wonderful Raphael’s Rooms.

2. Cappella Sistina

   After the museums you enter the Sistine Chapel, the famous venue for papal elections and one of Italy’s most visited sites.  The frescoes depict Bible stories, including the creation of Adam and of course there is Michelangelo’s renowned “The Last Judgment”

3. Place Saint Pierre

   The children will be actively involved in every aspect of the tour and may even walk away with a prize or two!! Your guide will leave you in Saint Peter’s Square next to the taxi and bus station.

What to know before you go

• Infants and small children can ride in a pram or stroller
• Public transportation options are available nearby
• Suitable for all physical fitness levels
• A dress code is required to enter places of worship and selected museums. No shorts or sleeveless tops allowed. Knees and shoulders MUST be covered for both men and women. You may risk refused entry if you fail to comply with these dress requirements
• Children must be accompanied by an adult
• READ CAREFULLY: Because of the Papal events in the Vatican some areas might get closed last minute without previous notice. This has already happened this year and can happen again during your Vatican tour: the Sistine chapel and/or the Basilica of Saint Peter might not be accessible. In case of such events our tour guide will provide you with a valuable alternative focusing the tour inside the Vatican museums.
